NaNo is officially over. I had an amazing month this time around. I wrote 86,594 before the clock rolled over to 12:01 and, get this, the story isn't over yet. Previous years where I hit 50,000, I could get there just under the wire and with a great deal of padding, but this year? Very, very little padding. I'm kind of amazed. Make no mistake, there's still plenty to fix (for one, my steampunk subplot got one chapter and two mentions and then nothing), but what I've got is a strong first draft.
Well, when I get it finished it'll be a strong first draft. I've got to finish the chapter I'm on (which may become two), and then write at least one chapter after that. It's so weird to be at this point and not be willing to wave the whole thing off for awhile.
Also, my comic book industry allegory became a tragic, epic love story with lesbians. The comic books are still there, certainly, but they are not front and center as I expected.
And now, back to the regular world and homework.

I am selling my 80-200mm f/2.8 lens. It's rather amazing, but its hardly used. Not really interested in putting it on eBay, but would consider selling to a friend here. If you're seriously considering this prime, pro-level lens, give me a shout.
I'm so tired this morning. It's Tuesday sale day here at the auction. Yippy. I'm getting over a cold (which actually wasn't that bad after I started taking an antibiotic), and I think my body is just kind of catching up with the day. Tuesdays shouldn't start so early for me, but they do. One of my bosses thinks that I need to come in at 6:30am, which means that I have to wake up at about 5:15am or so every Tuesday morning (which also means I have to go to sleep early on Monday nights). I've been doing this for the 2 years I've worked here, and I've never missed a Tuesday (when I'm not on vacation anyway).
Since I started working here, I have created so many shortcuts in the computer system and that has made ways that i can get my work done early --sometimes hours early. It's really taken me more than a year to perfect this system, and I have it down pat. So honestly, I probably don't have to come in as early as I do because I get my work done so fast that I find I have nothing to do for half of the day. I probably should tell my boss that, but I'm actually probably not going to.
The thing is, yes, Tuesdays are my early days. Yes, I have to wake up early and I'm usually tired enough that I just want to lay down next to my desk and snore, but there's one thing I haven't mentioned: I get to leave early too!
That is the one benefit that I think outweighs all of the cons in this situation. hehe I mean, I actually look forward to the end of Tuesdays. I plan for it. And I mock everyone else that gets to stay here because i'm proud that I'm one of the lucky few that leaves early on such a busy day.
So in truth, I don't want that to go away, so I'm willing to suffer to reward myself with an extra hour at the end of the day. what do I do with that hour? Oh sure, play WoW or something like that, but still.. an extra hour of dailies!
And that's why this world is so important. Dailies.

Yesterday was a very productive, but lonely, day.
Danny left me at 5am to go to work and didn't get off til like 7pm. I'm tired of him working so much overtime. :(
Anyway, I went back to sleep after he left and had a crazy dream about being seriously in love with the Heroes character Sylar. XD In my dream he was crazy in love with me too, but was still a murderer. Great, right? I woke up at 9:30am, ate some Lucky Charms, spent a lot of time decorating for Xmas (even put up a tree and some of those outdoor deer and stuff by myself), did other household activities (like organizing laundry), mailed a small package out to my mom, played 5 games of ITG at Orleans, and went back to Wal-Mart to get the very last of the Xmas supplies, not including gifts, I'd missed last trip. Danny met me at Wal-Mart around 7:40pm and helped me finish up with the shopping. Then we went home, put stuff away, watched Heroes at 8pm (Sylar!!! <3), and napped til I had to go to work at 10:30pm

Also, I don't think I ever posted this but I'm no longer working my 2nd job at SONA Financial Services. I got laid off on the 13th of last month, I believe. I'm glad tho. I don't need the money and I DO need the sleep! Feels good not to spend my entire Friday at work every week.
